Q. When is the Race?
A. The 25th Anniversary Race for the Cure is on Saturday, September 24, 2016. Gates will open at 7 am. This event will occur rain or shine. We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances. In that event, there will be no refunds; rather, your entry fee will be used as a donation to the Komen SC Mountains to Midlands Race for the Cure.

After the Race concludes, stick around for the First Annual Breast Fest! There will be music playing, food trucks and nothing but fun for a great cause! The concert is free for all Race participants and $10 for non Race participants.
We are so excited that Drew Horton, Larry McNair and the Hot Notes, and Benton Blount, a Top Ten Finalist from the 2015 season of America’s Got Talent will be performing this year!

Q. Where is the Race?
A. The Race and the Breast Fest will be held at Heritage Park in Simpsonville, SC.

Q. How much is the registration fee?
A. For the 5K Adult Non-Competitive, registration is $30.00. For the 5K Adult Competitive, registration is $37.00. For children ages 2-13, Non-Competitive is $18.00 and Competitive is $25.00. All children under 2 years old are free. Sleep in for the Cure is $37.00 and Virtual Runners are $37.00.

Q. Can I register as a participant the day of the Race?
A. Yes, we will be having on site sign ups until 9:00 am.

Q. What is the final date for individual registration?
A. Participants can register online through Thursday, September 22nd 5:00. Or on-site on Friday, September 23rd (8:00 am to 7:00 pm) or Race Day from 7:00 am to 9:00 am.

Q. Is my registration fee tax-deductible?
A. No, your registration fee helps defray the costs of producing the Race and is not considered tax-deductible. However, any amount that you choose to donate above the entry fee is tax-deductible.

Q. What is included in the registration fee?
A. You will get a Race number, a Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® t-shirt, a Breast Fest wristband and a great feeling!

Q. How will I receive my Race packet including t-shirt?
A. We will be having a Packet Pick Up event at the Haywood Mall on September 10th from 10:00-9:00pm. We will also be on site at Heritage Park from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm or you can choose to have your packet mailed to you.

Q. How long is the Race?
A. The Race is a 5K route, which is approximately 3.1 miles. There is also a shorter route option (approximately 1 mile). You may choose to walk or run either route. If you are unable to walk or run, you can still register and join us on Race day. We are always looking for people to cheer on our runners and walkers.

Q. Where do I send donations and registration fees?
A. Please try to register and donate online first! Please do not send cash; instead send checks or money orders. Our mailing address is as follows: Komen SC Mountains to Midlands, 82 Orchard Park Drive, Greenville, SC 29615.

Q. Are pets, inline skates, bikes, motorized scooters, or skateboards allowed at the Race?
A. For the safety of all participants, pets, inline skates, bikes, scooters, skateboards and pets are not allowed at the Race.

Q. Are strollers and wheelchairs allowed on the Race course?
A. Yes, however for safety reasons we require that participants using them line up behind those who are running.

Q. How does a breast cancer survivor determine which group to walk with in the survivor ceremony?
A. An individual is considered a breast cancer survivor from the time of the breast cancer diagnosis. For example, someone diagnosed with breast cancer in July 2006 would be a 10-year breast cancer survivor at the time of the 2016 SC Mountains to Midlands Race in September.

Q. Can we sell merchandise for fundraising on Race day?
A. Teams or individuals are not allowed to sell merchandise on Race day.

Q. Who do we make the check payable to?
A. Please make all checks payable to: Komen SC Mountains to Midlands. On the check memo line, please include your name or your team name.

Q. Should I bring money on Race Day?
A. Yes! We will be selling Komen merchandise.

Q. How can I become a volunteer? 

A. The success of the Komen SC Mountains to Midlands Race depends heavily on the support we receive from our volunteers in the months leading up to the Race and on Race Day. There are many ways you can get involved, for more information, click here.

Q. What if it rains?
A. Komen holds the right to cancel or change the date or location of the Race in its sole discretion, including in the circumstance of extreme weather. It is likely, however, that the event will happen rain or shine. Please dress accordingly.
